Getting Started

Getting started with the Lab or any other program for that matter can be accomplished by running through this simple Action Plan.

Every one is different, but we do have some incredibly similar goals. At the top of that list is to do something meaningful with our lives.  Most of us want to have what we want to have without going into debt to get it. Most us us want to be comfortable in our environment.

Of the many hundreds of people I have worked with in my lifetime there are only three things that keep them from achieving those things and more.

You are probably thinking three things, oh sure! But it is true there are only three things. They can manifest themselves in a good many ways

but...

The first - FEAR
The second - Lack of EDUCATION
The third - INERTIA

I have heard so many sales people tell me the hardest door to open is their own. I have heard big macho men tell me that they cannot start a conversation with a woman if their life depended on it.

Inertia - Before I continue, here is a little word study on the word

Inertia.

inertness, esp. with regard to effort, motion, action, and the like; inactivity; sluggishness.

2. Physics. a. the property of matter by which it retains its state of rest or its velocity along a straight line so long as it is not acted upon by an external force.
b. an analogous property of a force: electric inertia.

3. Medicine/Medical. lack of activity, esp. as applied to a uterus during childbirth when its contractions have decreased or stopped.

Origin:
1705–15;  lack of skill, slothfulness

Synonyms:
1. torpor, inaction, laziness

inertness –adjective 1. having no inherent power of action, motion, or resistance (opposed to active ): inert matter.

2. Chemistry. having little or no ability to react, as nitrogen that occurs uncombined in the atmosphere.
3. Pharmacology. having no pharmacological action, as the excipient of a pill.

4. inactive or sluggish by habit or nature.

Origin:  1640–50; unskillful, equiv. to in- in- 3 + -ert-, comb. form of art- (s. of ars) skill; see art 1

Torpor
–noun 1. sluggish inactivity or inertia.
2. lethargic indifference; apathy.
3. a state of suspended physical powers and activities.
4. dormancy, as of a hibernating animal

Origin: 1600–10; < L: numbness, equiv. to torp(ēre) to be stiff or numb

Synonyms:
2. stolidity, listlessness, lethargy. 4. sleepiness, slumber, drowsiness

So then, from this word study are the word or words that fit you or people you are attempting to work with? Overcoming the inertia does often put to rest the other two.

We are all able to overcome the inertia by:

1. Recognizing that it exists
2. Developing a passion for what we do
3. Write goals
4. Work with purpose
5. Become accountable to someone and something
6. Make sure we understand what is being expected of us
7. Make sure we make others understand what you expect of them

Here is your action plan to get yourself going

Get with your advisor or one of the team to schedule a one on one interview to help you find your niche. Once you know what your starting niche will be then...

STEP 1: Add an Item for Sale

STEP 2: Start Selling

STEP 3: After the sales follow up, follow up, and follow up some more.

STEP 4: REPEAT

Put the lab on your daily schedule.

Save the eMail you will receive every week will outline all of the labs for the coming week. Then each day we send out a short reminder message. As you grow, you may think of labs that you want to teach.  We are always looking for new teachers and new joint venture partners that will bring quantity and quality to the lab

The more you participate the better we all become.
