Using eMail to communicate with others is quick and easy. With all the applications that help you to write email, there is never ending fun and of course entertainment in writing and receiving email messages.
We have talked about writing email and why email has become a very important part of our daily communications activities, today we can talk about having fun with email and a couple of the applications available to you.
Proper Formatting
What a fun topic when you begin using an application like http://www.incredimail.com/english/splash.aspx As a free application it is fun to use, but it comes with a lot of advertising. When a company gives anything for free, you can well guess that they support their business with advertising so just be aware of it.
With Incredimail you can:
-Send beautiful email backgrounds
-Add 1000’s of fun emoticons to your emails
-Enjoy animated email notifiers
-See exciting 3D effects in your emails
-Add funny animations to your emails
-Add cool sounds to your email messages
This email application is more for fun than it is for business.
Remember to keep your sentences short. Use proper punctuation and break up long block of text with blank lines. Oh yes, and before I forget please don’t put your message in all caps. Caps are very hard to read and in most forum and email circles it is considered to be shouting.
Emoticons
Emoticons are fun little graphics that express how you are feeling. Again these are more for fun and do make great additions to Thank You notes, Birthday messages and of course for Holidays.
At http://www.freesmileys.org/ you can get really fun smiles. The site claims that there are no viruses or adaware in their downloads. No matter where you look for graphics, be sure to scan them before downloading to your computer. In almost every graphics site be sure to read the TOS carefully.
Setting up a gMail account
One of the best places to open a free account is with Google and GMail. Choose your name wisely. I found using my site name cwinsonline worked great for most email programs so using a nick name with online at the end of it would communicate who you are to your friends and family.
Adding your zip code to your name may also find you a name that hasn’t been taken.
The value in filtering
Once you are online for any length of time, I hate to say it but spammers are going to find you. GMail does a very good job with filtering out the junk. They also have a very easy facility for filtering the email you do what to receive.
Filtering simply means applying a set of terms to the filter. Essential the filter is asking you
1. What do I look for
2. What do you want me to do with it
3. After I find it what do you want me to do next
Using the WYSIWYG interface with gMail and any of the other web mail options makes it as easy to write and format your eMail so it is easy to read as using your favorite word processor.
